Forti del Vento is our dream come true. It is the dream of Tomaso Armento and Marco Tacchino, two wine growers tied to the Alto Monferrato Ovadese area, by birth and affection for the area. This corner of the Piedmont region gave us everything and we wanted to express our gratitude to the land by naming our Firm: Forti del Vento. The name intends to evoke the wonderful castles surrounding our vineyards, but also our farming roots. It speaks of the winds blowing around these hills, of traditional words of long ago and of the passions that breaths inside us. It is easy to understand how this Firm represents a return to the future for us. We have been wine growers for generations, not vintners by happenstance. From our elders we inherited our love for the land, our work ethics, traditions, growing techniques. We have also preserved their flair for innovation. This is how we take care of Dolcetto, our main vine stock - of the historical Nibiö - of Albarossa, an innovative hybrid of the Barbera and Nebbiolo grapes - of the traditional Cortese - of the internationally renowned Chardonnay, Cabernet e Sauvignon. We work with DOCGs (Denominazioni di Origine Controllata e Garantita), such as Ovada and Barbera del MonferratoSuperiore. And with DOPs (Denominazioni di Origine Protetta), such as Monferrato Rosso, Monferrato Bianco and Piemonte Albarossa. To enhance the best part of our roots, we strive to maintain an open mind.
