The Pieve Vecchia Vineyard is a relatively new Tuscan wine producer of wine and extravirgin olive oil which was created in the late 1990’s by Vincenzo Monaci, a native of Campagnatico in the Tuscan Maremma. The grounds cover about 50 hectares, including 29 of vineyards, 5 of an olive tree orchard and 2 for the winery.
Pieve Vecchia is principally a wine producer but it also makes grappa, coming from the prestigious Nannoni di Paganico distillery, and extravirgin olive oil from the olive tree orchards that surround the estate.
The character of the project is written in the surrounding countryside of Montecucco. This area of the Maremma, long abandoned, is nonetheless distinguished for its historical and environmental heritage. The objective of this initiative is to transform this area into a flourishing centre of production, drawing on the new-found charm of the Montecucco area of Tuscany.
Within this context, Pieve Vecchia is constantly exploring new creative ideas, by studying the local area and identifying its key characteristics, in order to enrich its wine producing activity.
