This young and vivid nero d'avola from 2008 called note nere, is an attempt from Pacos Vini to make a new fresh nero d'avola from Sicily.

In front of your eyes the wine is limpid, with the colour of a typical ruby red with purple shades. When you stirr it in the glass it's character is quite consistent, with fairly quick tears and legs of medium size.

In the nose it's quite intense, with the odorous sensations as old grapes, strawberry, raspberry, raw meat, cherry and nimble black peppar. I would say it's a quite complex wine, between quite fine and fine, it's lacking some elegance in the bouquet to be fine. Note nere is a vinous, fruity, with mineral and fragrant wine.

Having a zip you will feel it's medium-dry sensation, bringing the fruit like strawberry to you, with some black peppar at the end. Gives a medium warm impact, and it's quite soft regarding the balance between glycerine and alcohol. Scarcely tannic I would say.

A good wine for fish with low to medium level of fat, like tuna fish. White meat like chicken, turkey and pork suites well for this wine. Cheese which is short to medium seasoned would be good for this one, not to spicy though. Or take it down to the beach in the early spring and just enjoy the wine and the views, an excellent combination!

Conclusion, a good wine, but could perhaps need another year or two, to be more relaxed and clear-distinct. Perhaps five years is a maximum age for this wine. I don't think it will any better after that age.
